The Island Heights Municipal Alliance Meeting
February 21, 2007
The Island Heights Municipal Alliance Meeting on February 21, 2007 was called to
order by Chairperson Leahey at 3pm. Present were Libby Schabaker, Wendy Prior,
Sharon Wilber, Betty Jo Leahey, Sue Cowdrick, Sharon Zanetti, and Janine Krog.
Motion by Sharon Wilber second by Wendy Prior to approve the minutes from the
December 12, 2006 meeting. Unanimous Voice Vote.
Correspondence was reviewed for the following:
A. OCEAN COUNTY QUARTERLY MEETINGS - NEED SOMEONE TO DO TWO OF THEM IF CAN.
B. HBO "ADDICTION" SPECIAL
C. UNDERSTANDING & DEVELOPING AN ACTION PLAN - FEB. 28, 2007 @ 5:30PM
D. DEVELOP PREVENTION PROGRAMS - APRIL 25, 2007 @ 5:30PM
E. NJPN PREVENTION CONFERENCE 3/2/07
F. CSP-NJ WELLNESS CONFERENCE 3/9/07
G. STEROIDS & ISSUES WITH SCHOOL DRUG TESTING - 3/21/07 @ 8:30AM
H. ENHANCE CAMPUS COMMUNITY COLLABORATION TO REDUCE UNDERAGE AND DANGEROUS
DRINKING - 4/19/07 @ 8:30AM

Discussion was held on programs for the upcoming year. Tentatively Betty Jo Leahey
and Sharon Zanetti are working on a senior program that involves six steps and will
be speaking to the newly developed Senior Advisory Committee to coordinate activities
with them.
Sharon Wilber will work the IHPTO regarding a parental education evening at their
April meeting possibly the 15 minute break program since it has been over 5 years
since we did that.
Sue Cowdrick and Sharon Wilber will work on Red Ribbon Week at the IHGS and Wendy
Prior will work on Red Ribbon Day, Town Wide Yard Sale and Trick or Treat at the
Borough Hall and Drug Free Christmas Tree.
The meeting was adjourned at 4pm on a motion by Janine Krog second by Sharon Zanetti.
Unanimous Voice Vote.
